Millions of people report an
NDE. Help your child by learning
more....
Even
babies can have NDEs They report them once they
become verbal.
Children are
forever changed by their NDE, often experiencing
"aftereffects" ....

Dear Friend,
- Does your child
act mature for their age like a "wise old
soul"? - Get distressed by news or violence on TV and
in movies? - Is your child unusually loving, always
interested in helping others? - Has their personality
changed after a brush with death or near
miss? - Has your child ever been in a
life-or-death situation? - Did their heart stop, even
briefly? - Did they ever say, "I almost died!"
after an accident? - Was your child ever found at the
bottom of a pool but appeared okay? - Did your
child experience trauma during
birth?
If you
answered YES to any of these questions, then you need to read
further.
Many children have NDEs and don't
understand what happened. NDEs can occur in situations where
life-saving measures are NOT needed. They can occur in infants
or even during the birth process.
Children who have an NDE are FOREVER
CHANGED!
I know. I
had an NDE at the age of five when I almost drowned. No
life-saving measures were needed, yet I still experienced the
"loving light", a peaceful "knowing", a life "movie" (review),
angels, and an out-of-body experience. After that, my world
was never the same again.
Researchers now know that
"aftereffects" always follow an NDE. Your child will remember
the NDE their entire life, and the story will never
change.
They may also be afraid to tell you!
Will you believe them? Think they're crazy?
These
books can help your child
....
THE DAY I ALMOST DROWNED: A CHILD'S
NEAR-DEATH EXPERIENCE is about the day I almost died
in my backyard swimming pool when I was five years
old. During my
NDE, I was embraced by a loving light as I moved out of
my body, watching the scene from above. I was then shown
my life "movie" by angels until I understood that how we treat
others is our most important test in life.
Growing up wasn't easy as I experienced most of the
"aftereffects" described below. This book will help all
children to know that being different is okay.
This humorous and insightful autobiography will also
comfort children who've had an NDE by giving them coping
mechanisms to navigate life after their
experience.
RACHEL'S MAGIC SWING is a beautifully
inspired book written especially for children who may have
experienced an NDE. It was written with love and humor to ease
a child's fears about death. (In many cases, even if YOU don't
think they "almost died", they KNOW they
did!)
Rachel discovers she has a Magic Swing when
Jonah, the angel, materializes out of thin air! He takes her
on an "adventure to heaven" - described in a fun and
truthful children's version, based on reports from hundreds of
kids who had an NDE. Rachel longs for the loving light she
felt in heaven. Life on earth is hard. Until Jonah shows her
the Magic Book and helps Rachel realize how special she really
is and how to be true to herself.
This book
will also help children who face a serious or terminal
illness. Rachel was "born sick" and often visits the Ronald McDonald House while she receives treatments
at the hospital. Her sickness is not described so that all
children can relate to Rachel. Healthy children will also
empathize with Rachel's life and learn valuable lessons from
Jonah, her best friend and angelic
playmate!
These books will open the
door by allowing your child to talk about their
experience.
Even if your child HAS NOT
EXPERIENCED an NDE, they will enjoy these books. It helps
ALL children with their fear of death, letting them know that
there is a BIGGER PICTURE and that ANGELS WATCH OVER US
ALWAYS! They will get a glimpse of heaven and know that death
is not something to fear.
Every child wants to know they are loved by God. When
parents nourish a child's spiritual needs, they feed the soul,
helping to heal mind and body. Children are comforted
by these books because they answer questions about the
deeper meaning of their lives in fun and adventurous
stories!
Your child depends on YOU for love
and support! Give them books that show them you
care....
I wrote these books as a way to advocate for the
spiritual needs of children. Mind, body and spirit work
together in harmony to create
healthy kids. If one of
these pieces is out of balance, children won't
thrive.
I also encourage parents to learn more
about NDEs. You may have had one yourself....It can explain so
much about the way you feel and the way you see the
world.
If your child had an NDE, they will need you to
understand how they may have changed.
Facts About NDEs,
Aftereffects & Helpful Hints for Parents - A vast
amount of research has been conducted on NDEs since the 1970s.
Many organizations have been formed to help children and
parents who have experienced an NDE.
70% of children report an
NDE after their heart stops. - If your child's heart has
ever stopped, be alert to the fact that they probably
experienced an NDE.
4% to 5% of the population worldwide has
had or will have an NDE. - This may account
for 15 million people in the United States
alone.
Even babies can
experience an NDE. - Children often report NDEs
once they become verbal. They can happen to newborns during
the birth process or to babies of any age.
No scientific
explanation can account for all aspects of an NDE or their
after-effects. - This includes lack of oxygen,
hallucinations or the presence of certain drugs.
A childhood NDE has many
common features: - These may include "a loving
nothingness", a "friendly voice", an out-of-body experience,
a "safe light" or "safe dark place", no pain or fear,
ability to see through walls and hear the thoughts of
others, a life review, moving through a tunnel, feeling
grown up in a child's body, a heavenly experience,
encounters with angels, cities of light, being told by an
angel that they have something special to do or that it
is not their time....
Aftereffects include many of the
following: - Altered biological patterns (amount of
sleep); interest in universal love (vs. specific people); a
lessening of child/parent bond; distress from news reports
and violence; increased interest in service to others;
increased spirituality; hunger for knowledge; increased
intelligence; more mature than children their age;
sensitivity to medications and light; communication with
spirits (labeled as angels or guides by children and
imaginary friends by parents); increased intuitive
abilities; more creative or inventive; no fear of death;
synesthesia (smelling colors, seeing sounds, etc.); desire
to eat less meat as an adult (the opposite with children);
possible depression or isolation (may be increased
suicidality among teenagers); being driven toward a life
purpose....
Helpful hints for parents
include the following: - Listen, listen, listen - be
prepared to show receptivity if a child describes
near-death-like features; gently ask open-ended questions;
anticipate changes in the child and be prepared to guide
them; encourage child to write about or draw their
experience; become knowledgable about NDEs, volunteer with
your child....
***NOTE: The research on
this website is derived from the wonderful work of
both P. M. H. Atwater,
L.H.D., Ph.D. (Hon) and Dr. Melvin Morse who are pioneers
in the field of childhood
NDEs. Atwater discovered the aftereffects and birth
trauma of children NDErs
described above. Dr. Morse is a pediatrician and
neuroscientist who has also
done research on the "God Module" - a spot in our brains that
communicates with God and
the universe. Both researchers have also written many
invaluable books. Their

Association of Near-Death Studies (IANDS). More
